OXU FAQ
-
Whenever we receive this question, 99% of the time, it is because the slide switches on the back AND bottom of the OXU are not in the right positions for your effects pedal. See the OXU owners manual above to ensure you have the right slide switch configuration.
Also, please check the manual of the effects pedal you are trying to control, to ensure you have aux switching enabled and setup properly.
Lastly, see our programming videos above for some of the most popular effects pedals.

The OXU works wth 65+ pedals (so far, that we know about). The OXU can work with any pedal that uses either of the 4 different momentary aux switch styles - normally opened (Line6, Eventide, Source Audio), Strymon-style resistor switching, Meris-style resistor switching, normally closed (Boss-style switching).
Please check the user manual of the pedal you are trying to use the OXU with. If the pedal requires momentary switching, the OXU should work.
Note: It will not work with pedals that require latching-style aux switching.
-
No, we sell the plate seperately because we know some folks don’t want/need it. This allows us to keep our prices as low as possible. The plate on it’s own costs $15. But if you buy it when you buy an OXU it’s only $10.
-
It’s as easy as flipping a few switches. Every OXU has two selector switches - one on the back and one on the bottom. You need to make sure each switch is in the proper location for the specific pedal you’re looking to use it with. The OXU manual (above) has a dead simple diagram that can help
-
In short, it’s as simple as mounting the OXU to the Mounting Plate with two screws (included with every mounting plate) and attaching your main pedal to the Mounting Plate with Dual Lock (included with every Mounting Plate).
Take a look at our installation video above for step-by-step instructions.
-
No, you only need the power adapter if you are using Boss-style switching. All other OXU modes do not require power.
-
Because the OXU Three does not need an input jack for a third button, we included a 9V Center-Negative jack in the OXU Three. If you are using Boss-Style switching, just a plug the appropriate power cord right into the OXU Three.

That’s a great, but big question! The OXU can be used in so many different ways with most pedals. Take a look at our configuration videos (above) to see some of our favs.
We also recommend consulting your effects pedal’s user manual to understand what options are available to you.
Ultimately, how you use your OXU is only limited by your imagination for some pedals (especially the Eventide H90). Feel free to send us some of the cool things you discover!

You can purchase replacement screws in our store. We don’t charge shipping and we send them via first class mail envelope. So they might take a week to get to you.
If you need the faster, you can find replacement screws at your local hardware store. Screw sizes are as follows:
OXU Mounting Plate - #4-40 X 1/4”
OX (to attach to Eventide Factor) - #4-40 X 7/16”
OX9 (to attach to Eventide H9) - M3 X 10mm

Unfortunately no, the OXU does not work with the Strymon Nightsky and Volante because they do not use momentary aux switching.
The OXU does work with the Strymon BigSky, Timeline, and Mobius though.
